Description

This is an SHO image of the North America and Pelican Nebulae found in the constellation of Cygnus. Having an apparent magnitude of 4 but low surface brightness, the North America Nebula covers more than 10 times the surface area of the full moon as seen from Earth. Lying 2590 light years away, these Nebulae span about 140 light years across.
